Our mission at Aha! is to bring awareness and provide support, information and funding to families with learners affected by dyslexia. Nearly one student in five has a language based learning disability and dyslexia is the most common of these disabilities. Through donations and grants, our goal is to provide funds to families for:
1. Identification, screening, and testing for learning disabilities for children ages 4-12.
2. Interventions and/or tutoring for students with dyslexia or reading disabilities.
3. Assistive technology to students with dyslexia.
The name Aha! come from that special moment that happens when a student experiences a connection of understanding for the first time with a new concept. It also represents the "aha" moment that most families experience when they learn why their child may be struggling in school due to a disability like dyslexia.
For our organization, we aim to make AHA! stand for Accountability and Higher Achievement for Dyslexics.
